Our OfferAbout UsTravel Information

After many years of working in Galápagos and for Galápagos, we still remember our first visit and cherish those moments as some of the most special of our lives. Galway was set up to offer you those same experiences, guided by the best possible people.

For this, you don't need a large team. You need a good team.

We pride ourselves in adapting to your needs. You might want to cruise the islands with other people, or on your own. You might be a passionate diver, or have a special interest in biodiversity. Or perhaps you just want to be surprised.

Get in touch and we will be happy to help you organise your trip your own way.

Luis (Champi) became a certified Naturalist Guide in 1990. Today, he is President of AGIPA (Galapagos Park Interpreter Guides Association), Galapagos' most active guide organization.

Champi’s guiding experience is considerable: he has been a guide in the ecuadorian Amazon region, has worked as a freelance on most local operations and, in the few last years, with private mega-yachts visiting the archipelago. That is how he became part of the crew of S/Y Hyperion for a Pacific crossing and dive trip. He speaks fluent French and English, his mother tongue being Spanish.

Champi is married to Cristina, they both raise Emilio on the islands. Cristina worked for 6 years at the Charles Darwin Research Station. When Emilio was born, a change was due… today she runs Galway.

Desirée's conservation credentials, experience and love of the islands, are some of the characteristics that make her one of the best people to guide you through the Galapagos. As such, we are very proud to have her as part of the Galway team.

A biologist and educator by training, she has been a naturalist guide in Galápagos since 1987. She has been Galapagos National Park's Deputy Director, and is a consultant and an adviser of various institutions and foundations. She has also been editing and publishing, single handlely, the magazine, “La Garua”, the only regular publication about the archipelago’s environment.

Desi has been AGIPA’s General Secretary since 2002. Snorkeling and traveling are two of her passions. She is Fluent in English and German, Spanish being her mother tongue.

For Fabio, natural history has always been a big part of life. So big, it motivated him to travel, by land and sea, through various regions of South and Central America, Europe, the Caribbean and Polynesia. He is a certified Yacht Master, with many thousands of logged miles at sea.

In 1987 he established himself in Puerto Ayora, lured by the pristine marine environment, the large National Park, and the unique lifestyle of the islands. He has worked as a Naturalist ever since his arrival, and has been a field assistant on many scientific studies and projects.

His passions are sailing, surfing and yoga. He speaks perfect French, English and German and is fluent in Portuguese and Italian. Spanish is his mother tongue.
